Dental implants are considered the preferred method for the replacement of missing teeth. Dental implants replace the tooth root and the crown, offering the most structural support and providing almost full natural function and appearance.
Claremont Dental Institute uses several different types of dental implants allowing for a personally tailored treatment plan for the replacement of missing teeth. For some patients, teeth in a day, or All-on-Four may be available for a total mouth reconstruction in just one visit.
Similar to a small threaded screw, the titanium implant is surgically placed in the jaw bone. This piece of the implant acts as a prosthetic root system, stabilizing the bite and promoting natural bone regeneration. The titanium material actually fuses with the bone for a permanent, durable and stable result. The implant takes 2-3 months to fully integrate with the jaw.
The abutment is the anchor that secures the dental restoration. A small abutment is attached to the top of the implant and sits above the gum line. The abutment will be attached once the implant is fully healed and the final restoration is ready to be fit.
The dental restoration is the piece of the implant that actually looks and functions like your natural tooth or teeth. Depending on the number of missing teeth a patient has, a dental crown, bridge or denture will be used.
The type of implant your Claremont dentist recommends will be determined by several factors, including bone and jaw health, as well as the number, placement, and size of their missing teeth. We offer:
